Aide-Memoire

It wasn't until 2017 and in the Army that I was clinically diagnosed with long term depression, but I knew I've been suffering from it since I was young. Living with this has been a daily test of mental endurance and resilience. I suppressed the pain in my early years with a lead pencil to paper, but now being mindful with a camera makes my mind momentarily windless and calm.

I love to stay quiet and see the world around me because being by myself helps me see it for what it truly is. The world is a fascinating place but even more so when I just observe and admire the wonderful and beautiful creations. Most of the time, what I see triggers a memory or reminds me of something in my past. The visual nostalgia of my hometown area and juxtaposed writing is my art therapy.
