about
As a contemporary photographic artist, I seek innovative ways to challenge the preconceived constructs of photography and its reproductive form. My methods of creation vary widely from series to series never allowing a single subject or medium to dominate. While my images in one series may be exhibited in a traditional documentary style the next series may take on a theory concept and be presented as an installation. For this reason, I see myself as a multidisciplinary artist who uses photography as the primary medium to develop concepts. Through this heterogeneous approach to art, I seek to engage my viewer on a deeper intellectual level.
My work is a reflection of my life. Whether I focus on the image as a social document within mass marketing and social media or the evolutionary changes the medium has endured, my work is centered on sociological perspectives I encounter. I use social experimentation and perceptions of subcultures as abstractions in the creation of my art to share and inform my audience.
