Maedeh Ojaghloo, an Iranian artist and social activist, was born in 1993 and raised in Tehran, Iran. She earned her MA degree in Animation in Iran and moved to the United States in 2022 to pursue an MFA degree in Photography and Related Media at SUNY New Paltz. As a multidisciplinary artist, she believes that being an artist means being an activist. Her work reflects the environment she comes from while adapting it to her new surroundings by integrating archives from her past. She brings attention to the challenges faced by individuals in Iran, a nation marred by state-endorsed brutality and suppression of women. Through her art, she engages audiences in her community's experiences, amplifying silenced voices.
