This body of works explore how a human body activates a space and how it is perceived in a social, political, religious, and spiritual context. I use photography to give visual form to big philosophical issues, like what it means to be a conscious being, or the relationship between our minds, bodies, and environments. Among many such philosophical issues are that of the concept of "the soul", which exists both inside and beyond a person's body. By presenting a figure without identifiable characteristics I am also urging my audience to realize what it means to be a conscious being by bringing to light how hypocritical we are as humans to define people based on their color, gender, body type, culture and religion.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
