about

I was leader in both non-profit arts organizations and colleges in the Twin Cities for over ten years before moving back to the Bay Area in 2014. For over six years of that time, in particular, I had a fundamental role in shaping curriculum, hiring and mentoring faculty, being an advocate for and educator of photography and film students at The Art Institutes International Minnesota. I've been an active participant in the Society for Photographic Education since 1992, and have attended 30 National conferences. I have also chaired two Midwest Regional conferences in Minneapolis. Having worn hats in both the gallery and education fields, it is my primary goal to push forward the arts in all forms, and see to it that great work continues to be produced and distributed widely. Specialties: Teaching (Photography & Book Arts) Assessment Leadership Grant Writing Budget Allocation and Management Staff Management Artist Coaching My artwork is primarily engaged in how urban dwellers interact with nature, perceived nature, and artificial manifestations of nature.
