about

Christine Holtz, Professor of Media Arts, is artist and photographer. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design (BFA, Photography) and Rochester Institute of Technology (MFA, Imaging Arts), Professor Holtz has also studied studio arts and photography at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, School of Museum of Fine Arts and Visual Studies Workshop. Professor Holtz's photography has been exhibited and collected nationally. Select exhibitions include George Eastman House (Rochester NY), Los Angeles Center for Digital Art (Los Angeles CA), Gallery Katz (Boston MA), Boston Center for the Arts (Boston MA), James Watrous Gallery (Madison WI), CEPA Gallery (Buffalo NY), Chicago Athenaeum (Galena IL), Hot Shops Art Center (Omaha NE) Gallery 1101, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (Carbondale IL) and SRO Gallery, Texas Tech University, (Lubbock, TX) Professor Holtz joined the department of Media Arts in 2007 and developed RMU's photography concentration and minor. Prior to teaching at RMU, Professor Holtz was an Associate Professor of Communication Technologies at University of Wisconsin Platteville. Professor Holtz serves on the board of directors Pittsburgh Filmmakers/Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and Sewickley Arts Initiative
