about
I utilize photography to create images that stretch the boundaries of storytelling, seamlessly blending fiction and nonfiction elements. My work encompasses process-oriented image-making, constructed narratives, portraiture, and documentary tableaus methods to explore the diverse ways familial stories can be conveyed.
I hail from the Washington, DC area and holds a BFA from The Corcoran College of Art and Design. After moving to Los Angeles, I achieved my second BFA from Art Center College of Design with Honors, followed by an MFA from ICP-Bard in NYC. I took over as director of Compact Space in its last year, overseeing the final exhibitions. In 2010, I curated a show at Icon Projects titled "Finding Family," and my work was selected by Kira Pollack, Time Magazine's Director of Photography, for exhibition in New York in April 2013. I an accomplished photographer and has taught photography in Los Angeles. In 2022, she showcased her solo exhibition "Family Matters" at Dayton University curated by Glenna Jennings. I have also been sharing my expertise through teaching cyanotypes and conceptual self-portraiture as part of the artist residency program at Northeast Elementary as a way to get back into teaching and maintaining raising her twins.
