redacted

redacted is a body of work that has been forming over time. This manner of work was started before the pandemic yet the current iteration I post here is influenced by post-pandemic fatigue, loss, and re-emergence. I hesitate to call it a covid project because the years of isolation and redaction started much before the lock-downs hit and the images themselves are pulled from a variety of projects between 2015 and 2022. The images are the seconds or the "throw-away" imperfect images of started but sometimes not yet finished projects.
This work is the first in a series of works that will be exhibited under a one-word statement and title.

Colour images have been developed by hand outside of the darkroom and black and white images, as always in my works, are developed in coffee and "eco-processing" solutions. Both are scanned for enlargement and the colour bar is added (this time an 8-colour CMYK purge file was used). For exhibition, the images have been printed on synthetic adhesive and hung to showcase the architecture of the gallery and the ephemerality of exhibition.
