about
My name is Barbara Justice. My mother bought me my first camera when I was about 12 years old. It was a Nikon One Touch Zoom AF, which I still occasionally use. Since then, photography has been my true passion. I am a film enthusiast. I learned about processing film and darkroom printing while earning my Fine Arts Degree at University of Texas at San Antonio. I never left film. In fact, it has been something that has caused my interest in photography to grow over the years. I am interested in the mechanical aspects of analogue cameras and the results they produce. The current content of my work is based on areas of memory such as deja vu, the feeling of being in two places at once, and triggers that cause a memory to be retracted. These interests all come from my own personal experience, and I am investigating these topics with several different photography projects.
