Grounded
"Grounded," comes from my feelings as an adult woman reaching emotional maturity. This maturity includes the feeling of security within myself and the progression of my life as well, but also includes the feeling of paralysis recent losses in my life have caused. The imagery includes representations of the feeling of being "grounded," in all the word implies. I include dead birds, butterfly wings without bodies, and rocks, which create weight and hold down both myself, and the other women in my life. The choice of non-living objects also refers to the death and destruction of my recent past.
