Issues surrounding belonging and identity, while universal, are ones that I have unconsciously struggled with throughout my life, yet it wasn't until I looked outward and started photographing others that I became aware of how deeply personal these themes were to me. Making pictures of others who, through their body language and gesture, remind me of myself, allows me to explore those feelings. When the images are made and released into the world, they create a relationship with the viewer that becomes their own.
