Alexander Diaz is a photo-based artist who received his MFA from the University of Florida. His work is a marriage of documentary photography and conceptual art. He utilizes photography to express his concerns and to comment on environmental issues, consumerism, and the particulars of place. His work has been exhibited at many institutions such as the Museum of Contemporary Art, Jacksonville, Norton Museum of Art, and Mobile Museum of Art. His past curatorial projects include No Place in Particular: Images of the American Landscape, Heirloom: Weaving Memory with the Now, and Unverified at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Jacksonville.
