Willie Anne Wright: Direct Positive
Direct Positive features the work of Richmond native and fine art photographer, Willie Anne Wright. This exhibition accompanies her book release of the same name, Candela Books, 2015.
Direct Positive explores Wright’s innovative use of Cibachrome color material and her production of unique direct positive images. Strangely saturated color, visual distortion and vibrant ideas gave rise to these beautiful and insistent objects.
This one-of-a-kind collection portrays Wright’s mystic journey through pinhole photography. Darkly beautiful in one photograph and then startlingly emotional in the next, each image is unexpected and impactful.
