The Art of Prepress for Photo Books
One of the most challenging aspects of photography is the struggle to ensure that your vision is materialized in your prints or book. In The Art of Prepress for Photo Books, we will talk about how to make great files and proofs that are easier to manage, on press or otherwise, and that will result in consistent results. We will talk about a visual palette and the importance of making good files, proofs, and separations. Finally, we will discuss strategies to manage press proofs and good ways to communicate those goals. Projects covered in this workshop will include: Kalpesh Lithigria/ Lost in the Wilderness, Karolina Karlic/Primer, Ben Huff/The Last Road North, and Susan Worsham/By the Grace of God. (book, file, proof, and production insight)
Participants are encouraged to bring either a set of proofs, book maquettes, or a sequenced stack of prints, if they have them.
Tuition: $220 / CPW members: $190 (includes $20 non-refundable registration fee)
