Jen Davis and Tommy Kha will talk about the role of self-portraiture in their work.
Tommy Kha will aslo present his first monograph, A Real Imitation, just released by Aint-Bad Magazine. Through autobiography, A Real Imitation employs strategies related to self-portraiture as a way to locate Kha's representation and role within his own photographs.
For the past eleven years Jen Davis has been working on a series of Self-Portraits regarding issues of beauty, identity, and body image, as well as, exploring men as a subject. She is interested in investigating the idea of the relationship both physical and psychological, with her camera.
