Derrick Burbul is a Professor in the Art and Design Department at the University of Nebraska at Kearney teaching foundation arts and photography classes. He received his Master of Fine Arts in Studio Arts from the University of Idaho in May of 2000 and a Bachelors of Science in English with a Minor in Photography from the University of Wisconsin--Superior in 1996. He grew up in the Lake Superior basin of Northern Wisconsin, which piqued his curiosity about nature, and, his travels have caused him to consider many questions about the relationship between humans and nature.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
