Collaborations with the Natural World: Experiments, Follies, and Discoveries
After serving as a combat correspondent in the US Marine Corps, Joseph Mougel completed studies at University of Georgia and University of New Mexico. He has created site-responsive work spanning photography, video, and performance for residencies at Elsewhere Artists Collaborative, Ucross Foundation, and Iowa Lakeside Laboratory. Collections holding his work include Nevada Museum of Art and New Mexico Museum of Art, among others. Mougel heads the Photography & Imaging program at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
