Jeffrey Wolin- Measuring Time

Over a career of 50 years, Jeffrey A. Wolin's photographs have been exhibited in over 100 exhibitions in the US and Europe. Wolin's photographic career will be celebrated with an upcoming retrospective book, Measuring Time, published by Kehrer Verlag. There will also be a major exhibition at the Eskenazi Museum of Art, Indiana University. This retrospective will include work from his many series exploring the human condition from portraits of stonecutters, survivors of the Holocaust, veterans of the Vietnam War, impoverished residents of Pigeon Hill, and his most recent work about people experiencing homelessness. This panel will begin with an overview of Wolin's work. The panel will then discuss with the artist this photographic career. The panel will touch on issues of the ethics of portraiture, use of text and image, authorship, as well as the value and efficacy of social activism in photography. Panelists: Keith Davis, Karen Irvine.
