Home, a space that is personal for many, yet there's a group of courageous individuals opening their doors to strangers. Their stories and perspectives fascinate me. In 2019, I embarked on a photographic journey, capturing the environmental portraits of Couchsurfing Hosts in New York City, a unique homestay and social network community connecting travelers with hosts who share their homes for cultural exchange. My exploration in NYC has been an enriching journey, inspiring me to continue and extend to other countries. I'm intrigued by how different cultures shape the experiences and interactions, the common threads that unite hosts from diverse countries. I aim to look deeper into the nuances of hosting culture worldwide. The universal and distinct elements that emerge from this exploration fuel my curiosity and passion as a photographer. This visual exploration delves into human connections, cultural exchanges, and the power of opening homes and hearts to strangers.
