Morgan Post's current project explores the environmental impact of the mining and refining of radiological materials. His focus is to educate the public on the widespread ecological and anthropogenic disaster pertaining to mining uranium in the south-east section of Utah and The Navajo Nation. The systemic widespread contamination from this resource demands our attention and activism to protect the residents, tourists and the land. Post's mediums are not limited to the traditional sense of straight photography. In addition to film, digital, video, installations and using various 19th-century printing processes, Mr. Post has been exploring the possibilities and variations of the Uranotype process for the past six years. His fascination with time, place and concept and the materiality of image-making builds contrast and tension, which acts to highlight the social ethos of the rapidly evolving 21st century.
Post's exhibitions include The Los Angeles Center of Photography, Fairfield University, El Laboratorio, LIU Brooklyn Humanities Gallery, A Smith Gallery, ArtSpace New Haven, Vermont Center for Photography, Indiana University, and Utah State University.
Post earned his MFA in 2010 and is currently a Professor of Photography at Long Island University and Fairfield University. He served on the advisory board at The Penumbra Foundation, in NYC and teaches workshops across the United States.
