Andrea Frank, Assistant Professor of Photography at SUNY New Paltz, presents the 2018 SPE Northeast Honored Educator award to Francois Deschamps, followed by a panel discussion entitled Photographic Education in Czech Republic, led by Professor Deschamps.
Panel: Photography and instruction in photography in the Czech Republic have undergone signi cant changes in the last decades since the fall of com- munism in 1990. The panel will discuss photographic education in Czech Republic with focus on the largest and most important School of pho- tography, FAMU, in Prague. The participants in the panel will be Francois Deschamps who will have completed a Fulbright to the Czech Republic in 2018 along with Tomas Dvorak and Stepanka Simlova, two faculty mem- bers from FAMU. Concurrent with the conference presentation, there will be a show of student work from FAMU presented at the Fine Arts Building on the SUNY New Paltz campus.
