There are many aspects of my life that have changed as I’ve aged, but I have been an avid reader since I was young. Nearly every book I read contains at least a few lines, and sometimes entire paragraphs or chapters, that give me pause and require further contemplation. In my series Notes, I use string to bind together those portions of books I’ve found to be important into new forms to become a physical manifestation of how I wrap my brain around understanding what I’m reading and what it means to me.
