Ticka-Arts

Sonseree is a photographer living and working in Austin, Texas. In 1999 she received a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of California, Sacramento. In 2006 she received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Photography from Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia. While studying photography she became inspired by the art of self-portraits when she was shown an art piece created by Adrian Piper titled Political Self-Portrait #2 (Race). Since that time her work has focused on creating portraits that tend to comment on race, and their social effects on American culture. Over the past several years she has exhibited work at various venues including Gallery RFD in Swainsboro, Georgia, The Arthouse at the Jones Center in Austin, Texas, as well as Austin's City Hall. She has been an active member of the Society for Photographic Education since 2005.
