Sherin Diaz was born in 1972, in San Juan, Puerto Rico where she currently lives and works. She is presently teaching middle school photography at St. John's School in Puerto Rico. She is a candidate for her Master of Arts in Museum Studies from Caribbean University, where she will graduate December 2012, and is currently apprenticing as a curator for small collections and galleries.Sherin has been an avid photographer all her life, yet it was not until 2005 that she acquired a Photography and Printmaking BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Her photogravures have been exhibited in France, Atlanta, Savannah, and New Mexico, leaving her mark on SCAD's private collection.Her primary focus is creating mysterious complexities out of simple scapes. Her eye for composition, light and attraction to shape and design enable her to create extraordinary images using, archival, alternative and traditional photographic techniques to compliment her vision.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
