Amy Faris is a painter. She received her training in the fine arts at Moore College of Art and Design and the New York Academy of Art.
For seven years, Amy worked within the Artist Outreach program at Liquitex Acrylics, and in this capacity, presented workshops and technical demonstrations on the use of acrylic paint and mediums at art schools and universities in the New York/New Jersey area, including: RISD, Cooper Union, Pratt, School of Visual Arts, Parsons School of Design, FIT, Hunter College, Princeton University, Queens College, the National Academy of Design, Massachusetts College of Art, Boston University, the Art Students League and University of the Arts. Currently, she serves as a member of the technical advisor team at Liquitex, providing studio support to working artists and students across the country and in Canada.
In addition to her work with Liquitex, Amy holds an adjunct faculty position in the art department at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft, where she teaches Figure Drawing 1 and 2, Drawing 1, Acrylic Painting and Color Theory.
Her workspace is located in Asbury Park, NJ.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
