The theme of the conference explored "The End of the World", taking the lead from the theories surrounding the Mayan calendar. Human beings certainly have the capacity to contribute to this outcome as individuals and as societies. It was an opportunity to examine how we interact with each other and the planet not only the destructive aspects of the equation, but the positive efforts made every day to avert disaster.
