In the first hour (from 1–2 pm), Ian and the Silver & Light Team will introduce participants to wet plate collodion photography. There will be a discussion about making handmade film and the relevance of it during the height of the digital revolution. They will demonstrate how to prepare a plate for creating an Ambrotype using the wet plate collodion process.
Also on display will be the world's largest wet plate camera made out of a delivery truck, and the world's largest wet plate collodion Ambrotypes.
Event limited to 10 people. Sign up during registration. If you would like to see the entire demonstration from preparing the plate to exposing it and developing it, please make sure to sign up for Hour 2 as well.
