As the Director of the Art Galleries at TCU in Fort Worth since 2014, Sara-Jayne Parsons drives the international curatorial vision of Fort Worth Contemporary Arts and promotes professional development of students and local artists through programming in Moudy Gallery. Her curatorial practice is informed by working in close partnership or collaboration with artists to produce new art works through commissions, exhibitions and artist residencies. Previously the Exhibitions Curator at the Bluecoat in Liverpool, UK, Parsons produced a diverse, contemporary exhibition programme from 2006-14. In that time she was a collaborative member of the curatorial team for the Liverpool Biennial (the largest international contemporary art festival in the UK) and was also a board member of LOOK, Liverpool's biennial international photography festival. Parsons' critical writing on photography has been published in various contemporary art magazines including Exposure, Source, and Art Monthly Australia. She is currently completing a PhD on the basis of prior published work at the University of Plymouth, UK.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
