Katherine Hope Savelle is a photographer/filmmaker based in the metro Detroit area of Michigan, USA. She received her degree as a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the College for Creative Studies in 2025. Her motivation comes from interconnection - the ways that we impact each other, our environments, and ourselves. Her practice lies in remembering and reminding that we are in this together, and that shows up in many ways. Her ideas are mostly realized in photographs, but she also films, writes, and creates art in other forms. While many of her projects have focused on highlighting issues of injustice, she often centers on human connection and all the ways we strive to find joy despite these sometimes-harsh conditions.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
