The Carl Toth Archive: Fluent Articulations in a Mutable Medium
Andrea Eis recently retired as Distinguished Professor of Film at Oakland University, Rochester, Michigan, where she taught since 1983. She has a BA in classics and anthropology/archaeology from Beloit College; BFA in photography, film, and video, Minneapolis College of Art and Design; and MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art, where she studied with Carl Toth. Eis has curated multiple exhibitions, including of Carl Toth's work at Endicott College and Wake Forest University. Eis has exhibited her own photographs, installations, and films nationally and internationally, and published an artist's book, Ancient Finds. She was awarded a National Endowment for the Arts 'Art in Public Places' grant, a National Art Education grant, and three Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs grants.
