In the cyanotype workshop we will explore workflow and composition as participants create cyanotype prints using a selection of nature-related items or small objects brought from home. Participants may also use digital files to make their cyanotype prints. We request the file be sent to the presenters using Google forms before the workshop to have the transparencies ready for use.
The participants will use Sumi paper the presenters precoat with cyanotype chemistry to use with plant materials, objects, or a digital negative exposed in the sun or with a UV light unit. There will be a hands-on demonstration on coating paper.
Handouts will cover making a digital file to print on a transparency, as well as the cyanotype process. The history of cyanotypes, exposure and processing timelines, evaluation, and troubleshooting will also be covered.
Registration is limited to 18 participants. A google form link will be sent to registered participants.
