If the art world is like Harry Potter's wizardry world, presenter Mark Chen says he would be a "mud blood". Having an undergraduate degree in computer science and experience in developing software systems, his art practice has been deeply informed by engineering's structural approach. This trait has been omnipresent in his classrooms for 20 years. Now, this teaching style is front and center.
Working on Photography, A 21st Century Practice(Routledge 2020), gave Mark a chance to systemize his style. In this presentation, he will introduce his pedagogy, especially to inspire his esteemed colleagues who are the "pure bloods".
