There is a diversity of personal significance drawn from the landscapes we live in. Although just geographical vistas inscribed by light and activity, they come to embody symbols of our deepest held beliefs and anxieties. Through their own creative meddling, Amanda Musick, Stefan Petranek, Jacinda Russell, and Hugo Teixeira each seek to deconstruct the mere physical landscape around them through innovative artistic approaches. Reclaiming the landscape genre to tell their own personal narratives from the political to the ecological, these visual artists create vital expressions to convey what it means to exist in this time and place.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
