Part of ongoing research on the mid-twentieth century immigrant photographer, this presentation explores the empathetic gaze as connected to the marginalized one through the perspective of Marion Palfi and her studies of unseen, unheard American populations: children in need and the elderly, the African- and Native Americans, and the incarcerated.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
