An artist and teacher, Sarah Pfohl studied drawing and art history as an undergraduate at Pratt Institute and earned a master's degree in education from Harvard University. Her study of education at Harvard focused on curriculum design, critique methods in visual art, and learning in museums. Pfohl studies now in the Art Photography MFA program at Syracuse University (SU), where she also teaches as an Adjunct Instructor in Art Photography and as an Instructional Associate/Teaching Assistant in Foundation Art History. Prior to teaching at SU, Pfohl taught visual art and inclusion in U.S. public and charter schools for 5 years and ran the education arm of an art gallery in New York City for a year and a half.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
