Working within the documentary tradition, Stacy Kranitz makes photographs that acknowledge the limits of photographic representation. She has received awards for her work, including a Pulitzer Prize and a Guggenheim Fellowship. Solo exhibitions of her photographs have been presented at the Rencontres d'Arles and the Contemporary Dayton as part of the Fotofocus Biennial. Her photographs are in public collections, including the Harvard Art Museum, the National Gallery and the Museum of Fine Art. She works on assignment for publications including the New York Times Magazine, the Atlantic and ProPublica. Her first monograph, As it Was Give(n) to Me, was published by Twin Palms in 2022. Her second monograph, Ain't No Grave Gonna Hold My Body Down was published in 2026 with funding from an Images Vevey Book Award. She is currently a 2026 / 27 Nieman Fellow at Harvard University.
