A former combat correspondent in the U.S. Marine Corps, he earned a BFA from the University of Georgia and an MFA in Photography from the University of New Mexico. He has participated in residencies at Ucross Foundation, Iowa Lakeside Laboratory, and Art Farm, and currently serves as head of Photography & Imaging at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
