Photolithography image transfer on clay is a very low-tech and low cost technique with effective results. I will demonstrate transferring the image on fresh clay (as in the video from CeramicsDaily.org, published in 2010) and on bisque (this would be the new, developed feature). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MolPVW2EaBY The transferring process doesn't take long, within 10 or so minutes, any image can be transferred. Ideally, the workshop will address the following:
- Brief history of the transfer technique
- Mixing and preparing of the ceramic ink
- Transfer technique's supplies
- Transferring of three - four images, at the same time (to unfired clay and bisque clay, flat surface and concave surface)
- Addressing briefly the technology of the firing process and sealing the image
