Limited to 10 participants. Workshops are first come, first served. Pending on available slots, you will be given the option to register for this workshop upon registering for the conference.'
Please only register for 1 workshop.
The workshop will first examine multiple bindings in relation to photographic imagery and reproduction. We will look at a number of photo-based artists' books and talk about the relationships between their bindings, materials, and printing processes. Each participant will then create a sample book that incorporates the nesting/sewing technique of the pamphlet binding with the accordion binding method – including wrapping boards, gluing pages together, and insetting images onto covers. All materials will be provided for the workshop, however participants are welcome to bring printed photographs and/or special papers to customize their sample books.
