Angela Schmidt has eighteen years' experience working with and assisting in the management of historical Alaskan film and video collections. Since 2013, she
has been the director of the Alaska Film Archives, one of the state's largest repositories of historical moving images. She holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Iowa State University and a master's degree in Arctic and Northern Studies from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She is a member of the Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA), the Society of American Archivists (SAA), and Northwest Archivists (NWA), and is on the board of the Alaska Historical Society (AHS).
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
