Our organizing committee has put together two AMAZING exploration opportunities on Sunday afternoon for our conference attendees - and we want to give our speakers first stab at this! Departing UAF at 3pm on Sunday, we've got two vans heading out of town for an afternoon / evening excursion:
- the van will travel up to Angel Rocks for a 4 mile late afternoon hike. Departing at 3pm, this van will take approximately 1 hour to travel up to this popular hiking destination. The autumn colors should be peaking right at this same time. The sun won't be going down until 8:30pm, so we'll be able to complete the loop prior to that time. You'll want to bring good shoes, dress in layers and be healthy enough to withstand a 4 mile hike that goes up 900 feet. I'd consider this a moderate hike.
