Imagemaker: Modern Documentary Practices: A case study of working with Yup'ik Eskimos on the Yukon Delta, Alaska

Presenter: Tara Champion

Saturday, October 21 - 2:00PM to 2:50PM
LiNC 302

Description of Lecture:

An interest in how climate change reshapes the environment and thus affects culture led me to the Yup'ik Eskimo peoples of the Yukon Delta on the west coast of Alaska. I have been working on this long form documentary project for three years. It started as what I thought would be a straight forward visual story about a subsistence culture that is feeling the effects of climate change, what I found when I went for the rst time was anything but simple.
