Carla Richmond completed her studies at the New England School of Photography, which, along with her work in the field, contributed to her recognition in 2014 as one of PDN's 30 New and Emerging Photographers to Watch. Richmond currently lives in Los Angeles, she is dedicated to portraiture as a way of making art as well as a great way to meet and learn about people. The majority of Richmond's work focuses on people who are devoted to and have grown roots in their home environments. Richmond's photographs have been exhibited in Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Barcelona, she won APA's National Photography Competition portrait award, she was recognized as a finalist in Photographer's Forum: Best of Photography, and has spoke in accolade at Memphis College of Art, The Art Institute of San Diego, and Palm Springs Photo Festival. Carla Richmond's work at once captures the true human experience and a whimsical sense of time and place.
