This workshop’s learning objectives are to discuss sources, the application process, and residency objectives and goals. All of which is supported by personal experience and narrative provided by Garth Amundson and Pierre Gour. International research is vital aspect of their professional life, allowing them to interact and develop relationships with colleagues across disciplines and throughout the broader community. International residency opportunities work to promote the understanding of the catalytic role that contemporary art plays in all cultures worldwide and across all creative media. Their shared participation in these experiences exposes them to different cultural dynamics, and requires that they be flexible and adaptable. Each residency informs the next, and translates into their creative research and teaching.
