Alex Emmons grew up in rural upstate New York, near the Catskills. She attended Denison University for her BA in Studio Art and Arizona State University for her MFA in Photography. Since leaving her first home in Middleburgh, New York, Alex has moved, traveled and lived abroad extensively. She is influenced by her family's migratory patterns and immigration history. Now, Alex and her partner Giancarlo live in Oklahoma City. Alex's work has been exhibited and published both nationally and internationally. She is the Assistant Professor of Photography at Oklahoma City University in the Art Department, where OCU students inspire her every day.
