Byron Wolfe uses photography and a diverse range of digital tools and visualizations to reflect on broader notions of culture, the passage of time, landscape, and the construction of perception. He often collaborates on long-term research projects with students and colleagues in fields that range from Visual Arts to Humanities to the Natural Sciences. He has authored or co-authored four books and his work has appeared in Harpers Magazine, The New York Times, Orion, Audubon, and more. He is a Guggenheim Fellow with prints held in many permanent collections that include The George Eastman Museum, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
