Julie Renée Jones lives in and makes work about the American midwest, concentrating on the complexities of aging and memory. She has exhibited across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Work from the award-winning series Umbra has been shared through many publications and outlets, including The British Journal of Photography, Real Simple Magazine, Fraction Magazine, The New Yorker Instagram page (takeover), C 41 Magazine, and Aint-Bad Magazine. She is a recipient of the Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award and a Montgomery County Artist Opportunity Grant. Jones received her MFA from Columbia College Chicago.
