Revitalize: Dickinson Avenue examines the contemporary world through a socioeconomic lens in the context of Greenville, North Carolina. Economic inequality in America is at the highest point since before the Stock Market Crash of 1929. As economies evolve, cities experience periods of economic restructuring. These changes are developing in Greenville, North Carolina. Greenville's economy has shifted over the years, from being reliant on tobacco to education and health care. The community is progressing with consideration for the desires of the upper class. The needs of the surrounding neighborhoods are often ignored, creating the trend of gentrification.

With a community project, support and perspective are necessary for success. As an individual photographer, neither of these ideas came easily to the project, ultimately making it unsuccessful. Revitalize: Dickinson Avenue is both a record of changes in small-town America and an exercise of creative practice and failure.
