Emily Williams's work explores Jewish race, place, and memory in the Deep South. She will describe her research process, including how she finds the sites to photograph and makes contact with the oral history interviewees. She will also speak about what she has discovered through the photographs and interviews which explore the nuances of Jewish history, identity, and memory in this complicated region.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
