Centripetal Persistence
Friday, October 14 - 1:00PM to 1:50PM
Presentation of the 25-minute documentary film Sam Wang: Centripetal Persistence about pioneering 20th Century Asian American photographer and retired Clemson University professor Sam Wang followed by a discussion with filmmaker John Rash. Rash teaches documentary film and photography at the Center For the Study of Southern Culture at the University of Mississippi. Sam Wang is known for his mastery of alternative processes and has been integral in introducing these methods to an emerging class of fine art photographers in China since his retirement from Clemson in 2006. The film follows Sam's story through his first-person perspective and the voices of his former students.
